FULL-TIME ANIMAL CARE PROVIDER

The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality care for our animals, maintain the cleanliness of the shelter, and to serve the public in a professional and friendly manner.

The hours of this position are Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Daily cleaning of assigned area (dog kennels, cat rooms or intake area)
Feeding animals
Medicating and treating animals, as needed
Providing customer assistance in person, on the phone, and in email correspondences
Introducing animals to visitors, and making recommendations on possible adoption matches
Providing animals with enrichment and training
Documenting health of animals and reporting abnormalities and concerns as instructed
Processing surrender and stray requests
Assisting with intake of new animals
Processing adoption applications
Performing other duties as assigned
Replenishing area supplies
Maintaining cleanliness of facility and property

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates will possess basic knowledge of animal behavior and will have experience in an animal shelter or similar environment.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unaided
Must be interested in animal sheltering and welfare
Must be reliable and detail oriented

EXPECTATIONS:

Follow guidelines and policies of LMHS
Be available to work holidays, as needed
Practice good communication
Be an effective team player
Show compassion in all areas
Demonstrate excellent customer service
Possess ability to prioritize

PART-TIME ANIMAL CARE PROVIDER

The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality care for our animals and to maintain the cleanliness of the shelter.

The days and hours are:
Sunday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Monday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily cleaning of assigned area (dog kennels, cat rooms or intake area)
Feeding animals
Medicating (as needed)
Providing customer assistance in person and on the phone
Introducing animals to visitors
Replenishing of supplies
Laundry
Maintain cleanliness of facility and property
Provide animals with enrichment
Observe/document health of animals and report abnormalities and concerns as instructed
Process surrender and stray requests
Assist with intake of new animals
Process adoption applications
Perform other duties as assigned
Assist with monthly spay/neuter clinic

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unaided
Must have basic animal handling experience
Must be interested in animal welfare
Must be reliable and detail oriented
