From Robert Parker Wine Advocate: “Perhaps the most beautiful packaging ever on a Bordeaux bottle, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild literally produced a work of art in the gold-engraved bottle of 2000 Mouton Rothschild. Of course, one can’t drink the glass, but this is the top-flight Mouton Rothschild, eclipsed only by the 2006 and 2009. A rich, tannic, earthy style, with loads of crème de cassis and floral notes, the final blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot is a full-bodied wine with plenty of coffee, earth, chocolatey notes and still plenty of tannin to resolve. I give it an anticipated maturity range of 2015-2050. “

A sealed wooden case protects six bottles of the highly coveted 2008 Caymus Special Selection Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Comprised of the very best barrels of the vintage, Caymus Special Selection is the vineyard’s flagship wine.
From Robert Parker Wine Advocate: “The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection is the first example of this cuvee to include Merlot (about 14%) in the blend. The Merlot component has given the wine a cocoa/chocolate nuance to its black currant, licorice-infused fruit. The tannins are velvety soft and the wine is beautifully textured and full-bodied. It is ideal for drinking now and over the next 15 years.”
