HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  Celebrate safely with your pets today:

– Keep the candy bowl away from your pets, because chocolate can be very dangerous for dogs and cats. Candies containing the artificial sweetener xylitol can also be toxic to pets.

– If you decide you want to dress your pet up for Halloween, make sure that his or her costume fits well and does not interfere with either sight or hearing.

– Make sure that your pet has proper I.D. in case he or she escapes out the door with trick-or- treaters coming in and out of your home. It is often best to put your pet in a safe place away from the front door during peak trick-or-treat times.

– Please use caution when burning a candle inside your pumpkin. Pets can easily knock it over and cause a fire. Kittens and cats may find the flickering candle interesting and can get burned or singed by the candle. Consider using a battery-operated light instead of a real candle for your pumpkin

Here’s to a fun and safe Halloween!
