Drawing on the best practices in animal sheltering around the world, this facility provides the highest standards of animal care and customer service.

The total project budget for the new shelter was $1.8 million. This amount included fees, permits, site work, construction, furnishings and equipment. Inviting and accessible to all, our new facility will insure that the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society will be improving the lives of people and pets for many decades to come.
Purchased in 2004, Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society is situated on twelve acres of gently rolling pastures with two small ponds. Minutes from Woodstock and readily accessible to the many neighboring communities that we serve.
